Alleluia! Christ is Risen! Please find attached, the rota sermon for this Sunday. My apologies for the delay, as I began my new call (appointment) on May 1st and was situating myself while writing the sermon. May the Holy Spirit and the life of Christ's paschal light fill you and your gatherings of worship. In Christ, John Boyd

Hello Preachers, I suspect that many of you will be granting your pastor's rest this Sunday as they recover from Holy Week. That's a great practice. I know that I used to take this Sunday off. Alas, now I farm and we are calving, so I jump out of my clergy shirt and into my overalls this time of year. Yee Ha! I have attached a sermon on Thomas for your use. I wrote it a couple years ago. One key insight that is missing in the sermon is that Thomas experiences the risen Christ in the midst of his faith community. I mention this because as you gather this coming Sunday you are living in the pattern of the disciples in John 20. The risen Christ, the Holy Spirit and the mission of God are made present to a group of fledging Jesus followers - "These things are written so that you may come to believe." My prayers are with you as you gather and proclaim. "Peace be with you." Tim Wray
Hello All, Grace and peace to you as you prepare to lead worship in your congregations. Fair warning, I’m not from around these parts. I am an American, from the deep south, come to Canada just over one year ago. I tend to write my sermons conversationally, with a bit of my own dialect so if words or idioms aren’t familiar, that could be the reason. My congregation laughs at me because I frequently use the word “y’all” in my preaching. (I restrained myself this week for your benefit.) I took the gospel reading, Luke 4:14-21, as my text for the sermon. Try not to think of the rest of the story (that we will hear next week) while you preach this one. Time enough for those harsher words later. I will attempt to send this in both a Word format and PDF just in case some of you have older computers, like ours here at the church, that just don’t like newfangled things. If you have questions or concerns you can contact me by email at [email protected] or by return email here. Yours in Christ, Pastor Diana Edis St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Prince Rupert, BC
Dear friends in Christ:
Here is my sermon for January 20, the Second Sunday After Epiphany. I have attached it in 2 file formats, MS Word and PDF. The files include the text of the gospel lesson appointed for January 20 as well as a personal introduction. I have formatted the text for ease of public preaching but you are welcome, of course, to reformat according to your preferences. Please let me know whether you have any difficulty managing the files, and I will do my best to assist you. May God bless you and your congregations with all that you need for fullness of life — above all, faith in God’s enduring promise. Cliff Reinhardt Burnaby BC Greetings! Attached you will find the homily for this week. I chose to do a shorter message because the words of the text speak volumes on their own. The texts used this week are from the Revised Common Lectionary and I included the version of the Gospel that I used for the study. Blessings on your preaching and your ministries! Peace+ Pastor Rebekah Swanson
Good Afternoon everyone. A blessed happy new year! It's hard to believe 2019 has arrived already. Attached in docx and pdf formats is the sermon for this coming Sunday, January 6. Just a reminder that the placement of commas and 'dot, dot, dots' [. . . ] indicate pauses and places where you can take a breath and continue reading. I have read it over several times, however, I am also working on another sermon as well. So, if for some reason something sounds off, or, sounds unclear as you look it over, please feel free to email me and I will clarify what I am saying (or trying to say) in my preaching. A blessed season of Epiphany to you all. Grace and Peace. Reverend Richard Glen Engel, BA, MDiv Chair, MNO Synod Candidacy Committee
